the all-mountain hybrid snowboard from jones . the stratos was developed over the past few years. an experiment that cannot be pigeonholed. a hybrid all-mountain board with the soul of a directional freeride board and the heart of a freestyle board. it's playful, offers good floatation, you can carve deep, and it doesn't lose control in rough terrain.riding stylethe stratos is a playful all-mountain board that knows no limits. the stratos masters any terrain.shapethe tapered directional shape is the classic, most versatile snowboard shape. the pop is concentrated in the tail and provides ample float and control in all terrain and snow conditions. taper means a narrower tail than the nose, and this provides more floatation. in deep snow, you'll enjoy less snow being carried back over the sides of the nose thanks to the blunt nose. this means you get the benefits of a longer traditional nose without the extra weight. traction tech 3.0, the corrugated edge, ensures the best grip in all snow conditions.profilethe directional rocker consists of a camber between the bindings and a larger rocker at the nose than at the tail. this keeps the board extremely manoeuvrable in pow and gives it additional buoyancy. the camber offers great edge hold and fast power transmission. the slightly rockered tail increases playfulness. the freeride-focused 3d base contour 3.0 comes with a balanced 7 mm upturn in the nose and tail. the upward bend commences at the rocker.flexthe medium flex combines response and playfulness.constructionthe stratos is based on the fscâ„¢ ultra core, the ultra-light paulownia core with specially positioned poplar stringers. the power sustainable basalt stringers are made from 100 % natural fibres and improve power transmission to the edges, torsional response and provide a smoother run. bio resin is plant-based and is used instead of petroleum-based epoxy. to reinforce the outline, the edges are made with jones-proven oversized, recycled, and highly durable steel edges. jones also uses recycled rounded abs, which extends the life of the topsheet. the eco-plastic textured topsheet made from environmentally friendly castor seeds is lightweight and durable. the construction is rounded off by the sintered 9900 base. the lightweight base is easy and quick to repair, thanks to the uhmw-pe.
