The Altenberg track is considered one of the most difficult in the world. Officially opened over 28 years ago, is the youngest of the four German ice tracks. The start and finish areas were refurbished in 2007, and today the track wends its way over 18 bends through the Erzgebirge mountain range in Saxony.
